How to get to the Conference Venue, University of Fribourg:

Take the bus to the University, the lines 1 (direction “Marly”) or 3 (direction “Pérolles”) and 7 (direction “Cliniques”) will get you there.  All three lines also stop at the main station. The bus stop in front of the University is called „Pérolles / Les Charmettes”.

How to get to Fribourg:

Fribourg is about an hour and a half away from Switzerland’s three main airports, respectively Zurich-Kloten, Geneva-Cointrin and Basel-Mulhouse. The regional airport of Bern-Belp is less than an hour away from the area.

By plane

Geneva-Cointrin, Zurich-Kloten and Basel-Mulhouse are Switzerland’s three main airports. From any of them Fribourg can easily be reached by train or by car (1,5 hours).

Geneva-Cointrin Airport
The airport is 135 km from Fribourg, 1 hour and 40 minutes by car. A train links the airport railway station to Fribourg every half hour (duration of journey: 1 hour and 30 minutes).

The airport is 160 km away from Fribourg, 1 hour, 50 minutes by car. A train links the airport railway station to Fribourg every half hour (duration of journey: 1 hour and 30 minutes).

Basel-Mulhouse Airport
The airport is located 130 km from Fribourg, 1 hour and 35 minutes by car. There is a regular shuttle bus service between the airport to Basel railway station from which a train runs to Fribourg every half hour (duration of journey: 1 hour and 30 minutes).

Berne – Belp-Airport
The airport is 40 km away from Fribourg, 50 minutes by car. A shuttle bus service runs every hour between the airport and Berne station, which is linked by train to Fribourg every half hour (duration of the journey Belp – Berne: 20 minutes).

By train

Fribourg is on the country’s main railway axe which links Geneva to Zurich via Lausanne and Bern. Intercity (express) trains are available directly from the airports every 30 min. The journey takes about 1 h 30 min.

By car

Fribourg is connected with the Swiss motorway network via motorway A12 Vevey-Bern. The three main airports are reachable through motorway in about 1 h 30 min.

Please note:
parkings are rare and rather expensive in Fribourg city; fees could be around 20 Frs per day
trafic fines are generally expensive.
